Recognization (पहचान) :-
इस tense के हिन्दी वाक्यों के अन्त में रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे आदि शब्द आते हैं |
For Example :-
(1) मैं स्कूल जा रहा था |
(2) उसके पिताजी अखबार नहीं पढ रहे थे |
(3) क्या तुम पेड पर नहीं चढ रहे थे ?
(4) वे वहाँ क्या कर रहे थे ?
पहचान :- रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे आदि |
Helping Verbs :-
- Was :- Singular (He, She, It etc.) - एकवचन
- Were :- Plural (We, They etc.) - बहुवचन
Main Verb :- Ist form + ing
Subject :- Who (कौन)
Verb :- What (क्या)

Rules of Translation :-
❂ Past Continuous Tense के sentences का हिन्दी में अनुवाद करते समय सबसे पहले subject लिखते हैं |
❂ इसके बाद helping verb was/were subject के अनुसार लिखते हैं |
❂ अगर subject एक वचन हो तो was लिखते हैं और अगर subject बहुवचन हो तो were लिखते हैं |
❂ इसके बाद verb की ing form लिखते हैं फिर object लिखते हैं |
❂ इनके अलावा अगर कुछ और भी words sentence के अन्दर हैं तो उनको object के बाद लिखते हैं |Formula :-
❂ Subject + was/were + verb(ing) + object + ..........Examples :-
(1) जब मैं स्कूल जा रहा था |
When I was going to school.
(1) नौ साल की एक सुन्दर लडकी टोकरियाँ बैच रही थी |
A beautiful girl of nine was selling baskets.
(1) वहाँ एक शरारती लडका खडा था |
A naughty boy was standing there.
(1) वह उसे टकटकी लगाकर देख रहा था |
He was staring her.
(1) ठंडी हवा चल रही थी |
The cold wind was blowing.
(1) लोग अपनी ज़रूरत का सामान खरीद रहे थे |
The people were buying their needed things.
(1) कुछ लडके एक पेड के नीचे बैठे थे |
Some boys were sitting under a tree.
(1) एक छोटा बन्दर कार चला रहा था |
A small monkey was driving the car.
(1) सोनू निगम स्टेज पर गाना गा रहा था |
Sonu Nigam was singing a song on the stage.
(1) मोर जंगल में नाच रहा था |
The peacock was dancing in the forest.- 🌟 Negative Sentences
Formula :-
❂ Subject + was/were + not + verb(ing) + object + .........Exanples :-
(1) मैं अपने कमरे में बैठकर पत्र नहीं लिख रहा था |
I was not writing letter sitting in my room.
(1) वह फोन पर मुझसे बात नहीं कर रही थी |
She was not talking to me by phone.
(1) वे मैदान में बैठ कर अखबार नहीं पढ रहे थे |
They were not reading newspaper sitting in the field.
(1) हम अपनी क्लास में शोर नहीं मचा रहे थे |
We were not making a noise in our class.
(1) नौकर बाजार से सब्ज़ी नहीं ला रहा था |
The servent was not bringing the vegetables from the market.
(1) लडकियाँ स्कूल नहीं जा रही थीं |
The girls were not going to school.
(1) ये लडके पतंग नहीं उडा रहे थे |
These boys were not flying the kite.
(1) खिलाड़ी मैच खेल नहीं रहे थे |
The players were not playing the match.
(1) बच्चे नदी में नहीं नहा रहे थे |
The children were not bathing in the river.
(1) माली पौधों को पानी नहीं दे रहा था |
The gardener was not watering the plants.- 🌟 Intrrogative Sentences (जब वाक्य के शुरू में "क्या" हो)
Formula :-
❂ Was/were + subject + verb(ing) + object + ..............Examples :-
(1) क्या आसमान में सितारे चमक रहे थे |
Were the stars shining in the sky ?
(1) क्या चपरासी घन्टी बजा रहा था |
Was the peon ringing the bell ?
(1) क्या सूनार अँगूठी बना रहा था |
Was the goldsmith making a ring ?
(1) क्या गली में ठंडी हवा चल रही थी |
Was the cold wind blowing in the street ?
(1) क्या माधुरी स्टेज पर डांस कर रही थी |
Was the Madhuri dancing on the stage ?
(1) क्या मास्टरजी विद्यार्थियों को धमका रहे थे |
Was the teacher scolding the students ?
(1) क्या लडकियाँ एक मधुर गीत गा रही थीं |
Were the girls singing a sweet song ?
(1) क्या स्टेज पर कोई भाषण दे रहा था |
Was anyone delivering the speech on the stage ?
(1) क्या ट्रेन स्टेशन पर खडी थी |
Was the train standing on the station ?
(1) क्या लडके रविवार को फिल्म देख रहे थे |
Were the boys watching the film on Sunday ?- 🌟 Interrogative Sentences ( जब वाक्य के बीच में question हो)
Formula :-

(1) वह लडका इस गली में क्यों खडा था ?
Why was that boy standing in this street ?
(1) तुम्हारे पापा इतनी ज़ोर ज़ोर से क्यों चिल्ला रहे थे ?

(1) तुम वहाँ उस समय क्या कर रहे थे ?

(1) राहुल धीरे धीरे क्यों चल रहा था ?
